SpinWing Vanes
Vane Questions
What makes SpinWing Vanes different from standard vanes?
SpinWing Vanes use a patented curved or hooked profile that traps and compresses air to spin the arrow up to two times faster than a standard vane. This rapid rotation stabilizes the arrow more quickly, resulting in tighter groups and greater resistance to wind drift — particularly important at longer distances.
Which bow types are compatible with SpinWing Vanes?
SpinWing Vanes are compatible with recurve bows, compound bows, and crossbows. They have been tested at speeds over 350 feet per second without adverse effects, making them suitable for even the highest-performance modern bow setups.
What is the difference between Original, Elite, and Hunter SpinWing Vanes?
Original SpinWing: Features a curved pocket design with minimal drag — ideal for archers prioritizing speed and tight groups.
Elite SpinWing: Adds a rear sloping hook for faster initial stabilization — excellent for competition shooting where quick arrow recovery is critical.
Hunter SpinWing: Features a larger hook and body for maximum stabilization and retained kinetic energy at distance. Popular with bowhunters and 3-D shooters who need consistent accuracy with heavy arrows.
How do I choose the right size SpinWing Vane?
Vane size selection depends on your arrow weight, bow draw weight, and shooting discipline. In general, lighter arrows and indoor/short-distance shooting benefit from smaller vanes (1 9/16" to 1 3/4"), while heavier hunting arrows and outdoor/long-range shooting benefit from larger vanes (2 13/16" to 5"). What colors are available for SpinWing Vanes?
All SpinWing Vane models are available in eight colors: Red, White, Blue, Yellow, Black, Green, Pink, and Orange.
Can SpinWing Vanes handle high-speed compound bows?
Yes. SpinWing Vanes have been tested at speeds exceeding 350 feet per second without adverse effects. They are well-suited to modern high-performance compound bows.
Formaster Training Aids
Training Aid Questions
What is the Formaster Training Aid used for?
The Formaster is a training aid that attaches to the archer's draw arm to teach proper back tension and follow-through. It works by providing resistance at the correct stage of the draw, helping to establish the muscle memory needed for a consistent, repeatable release. It is equally effective for beginners building foundational habits and experienced archers refining technique.
What is the difference between the Original Formaster and the Rigid Formaster?
Original Formaster: Uses a rubber resistance cord that allows you to train with a full arrow release. The strap and resistance cord are sold separately, allowing customization for your draw length and body size.
Rigid Formaster: Uses a non-rubberized cord and is sold fully assembled. It allows you to draw and release without using an arrow, making it ideal for indoor dry-fire training sessions.
How do I determine my Formaster strap size?
Measure the full circumference around your elbow with your draw arm completely straight. Take the measurement at the largest part of the elbow. The strap should fit snugly when your arm is bent at full draw. If the strap is too large, it will slide down the arm and reduce the cord's effectiveness.
Sizes range from X-Small (8"–9") to XX-Large (13"–14").
Which resistance cord weight should I choose?
General recommendations:
• J.O.A.D. & beginners: 13–17 lbs (short draw lengths ~18"–20")
• Women & young adults: 21–28 lbs (medium draw lengths ~21"–27")
• Men / longer draw lengths: 28–31 lbs (28" or longer)
The maximum recommended pull-weight without an arrow is 50 lbs; with an arrow, 70 lbs.
Does the Formaster work on any bow?
Yes. The Formaster Training Aid is designed to install on any bow. The technical manual included with every purchase provides step-by-step installation instructions. The bow is not included.
